Exciting New Releases From SupplierGATEWAY

Enablement

Security Audits

We made significant enhancements to the enablement invitation process to create a more robust audit trail for all of your onboarding transactions. This upgrade includes tighter control of enablement security and a clear audit trail for the entire life cycle, including when invitations are transferred from one invitee to another in the organization. Clients with specific sensitivity to the security of the onboarding process can now take advantage of the closed loop tracking and notification features of this upgrade, available as part of the Enablement Web Application.

Upgrades to the System Workflow Tools

To improve the ease of use and efficiency of the system’s workflow toolkit, we have improved several key components of the workflow engine. Updated system intelligence and configuration options make it so that tasks are automatically routed to the correct next actor in a process, even for complex workflows. For our clients using the built-in system API’s to integrate workflow data into their ERP systems, we have also added an in process viewer so that data captured during the onboarding or compliance processes can be audited or inspected more easily and without slowing the process down. Enhancements to the secure messaging system have made it easier to communicate with suppliers directly from the workflow and maintain a clear record of critical interactions.

Compliance Upgrades

We have implemented updates to our compliance tools to make it easier for clients to keep up with the workload. In addition to updates to the consolidated compliance console, we have also expanded the due diligence tool to provide for greater flexibility when vetting your suppliers. The insurance tools now have added dynamic options to accommodate the myriad of specialized insurance types that are emerging, and the Representations and Certifications tools have a full range of improvements including conditional logic and enhanced attachment tools to ensure you can collect accurate and complete compliance documentation with ease.

Enablement

New Virtual Payments

We are pleased to introduce electronic virtual payments that pay clients back from normal AP transactions! With our new turnkey, secure virtual payment capability clients can now opt to pay suppliers using virtual payment cards that generate rebates of 1% or more on routine transactions. Activation takes only 1 business day and rebates start to accrue immediately – with no minimum commitments required, no cost to start and no delays to get going.

Corporate Responsibility

Engagement and Inclusion Tools

We have incorporated feedback and input from many of you in this latest round of updates, to expand the capabilities of the system’s supplier engagement and diversity inclusion tools. The scope of the improvements span a broad range of capabilities. These include: more insightful analytics on your efforts; Localization so you can key in on specific regions to concentrate economic impact; significant upgrades to our QuickConnect Matchmaker tool to allow you to continue to engage directly with suppliers even during the Covid crisis; and, many other updates to make your job easier.

We are particularly excited about the new Inclusion Engagement Dashboards and Reports that provide insight to the reach and impact of your program efforts. Located in the posting console for portal clients, the comprehensive new tools include tailored views of your postings, QuickConnect Matchmaker meetings and webinars. The dynamic new capability also helps clients to quickly identify and showcase “Inclusion Champions”, that are most actively engaging diverse suppliers. In addition, the upgrade also introduces customizable download reports to support Inclusion compliance reporting needs.

Data Enrichment and Management

Our efforts to streamline and simplify data enrichment has taken on a more urgent impact in light of recent events. Accordingly, the upgrades to our data enrichment tools make it easier and more efficient for clients to discover diversity information about their suppliers. Integration options now make it possible to directly enrich data via the Data Enrichment API (see the developers site) which can connect client ERP’s to SupplierGATEWAY’s data enrichment engine for automated, unattended processing. The expansion of data fields including the new confidence level indicator, flexibility to define output file results, and improved system performance create faster turnaround times (in some cases – less than 30 minutes!) and better tools to support client CSR programs.

General System Updates

New UI/Navigation/Admin Tools/SSO

As of June 15th, most of you will have already noticed a significant change in what the system looks like, with our new interface and simplified navigation structure now in action. We have received great feedback from many of you and we firmly believe your user experience should be effortless, so we will continue to work diligently on updates that make your portal easy to use and manage. In our latest release, we have updated and expanded administrative features to give you more direct control of how you administer your program, so you can adapt quickly to the changing challenges that your enablement, procurement and CSR programs now face. For organizations seeking to enhance security protocols, we strongly recommend using the updated Single Sign On (SSO) toolkit. Activation is self service (subscribe to SSO from the Ap Explorer) and deployment can be completed in just a few minutes using the onscreen interface.

The Internet of Everything

We have been writing about IOT (The Internet of Things) since 2015 not realizing that the story didn’t end there. IOT, or the physical devices that are able to connect and exchange data was just the basic concept until the internet universe kept expanding. IOT focuses predominantly on physical objects communicating with each other. Now, we have “The Internet of Everything”, which  reveals a broader picture. According to TechGenix, in an article written by Angela Karl, The Internet of Everything is believed to be the process that brings people, data, and things together to make networked connections more relevant and valuable. It is amazing that one great thing about our current state of affairs is that we can rely on IOE to keep our businesses running smoothly from anywhere in the world. What is IOE?  In simple terms, it is the concept of basically connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet.  This is especially crucial during a time when businesses are sending people home to work remote.

“This coronavirus outbreak has raised concerns across the globe, with more than 113,000 confirmed cases worldwide” according to Business Insider. The spread of this virus and its prevention has affected the core foundation of our economy from the stock market to small businesses. Pandemics have happened before, however, this coronavirus has tested measures that we have in place for our business processes.  So, by now, you should know. Is your business prepared?

This is especially true in our data management world where you can put your processes and business continuity plans to the test, by asking yourself, “if my business structure shifts, can I withstand this change?” Do you have systems in place to store data, interact with suppliers and create/maintain new business all in one place? You need to have all of your solutions in one place or one portal.

Be prepared. Know that your business paradigm may change. Even if you have these measures in place, based upon consumer demands, your supply chain might be affected by other business’ change in their procurement. Make sure that you have access to multiple suppliers outside of your preferred vendor network. Start engaging these relationships now. Reach out, connect, ask them about their business continuity plan.

How fast can your system onboard these newly engaged suppliers? Is the onboarding process quick, easily accessible and efficient? Does it have flexibility to work across a global forum to be accessible anywhere in the world? Can you receive applications and make approvals with your team without you being in the same place at the same time? This is important. We live in an era where the IOT is helping us stay connected especially when you have access to business solutions that can not only maintain but expand your business during changing times.

We are all in this together…. Is it time for your business to level up? We are here to help. Let us know.

FHLB Des Moines Launches Online Bidding Platform For Suppliers

Earlier this month, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines or the Bank) expanded its Supplier Diversity Program by providing their suppliers access to bid on open contracting opportunities through their online portal which is managed by their supplier management partner and provider SupplierGATEWAY.

The Bank is excited to take this step in enhancing our Supplier Diversity Program with SupplierGATEWAY by our side. Including diverse suppliers in our sourcing process has always been a critical and important component of our program,” said Heather Hooks, vice president/diversity manager, FHLB Des Moines. “Now with a more efficient, cost-effective and transparent bidding platform in place we can connect with a broader network of suppliers.”

By centralizing and streamlining the bidding and vendor management process through its online supplier portal, the Bank can provide its staff with access to a vast network of suppliers. They can also view how many suppliers match a specific opportunity based on their designated diverse business classification.

In order to gain access to a list of open contracting opportunities, interested suppliers must register for the Bank’s Supplier Diversity Program. Once registered, suppliers can access their online company profile, view and respond to open bids and upload relevant documents and files for any of the Bank’s open opportunities. All registered suppliers will receive notifications of new contracting opportunities through SupplierGATEWAY’s mobile application, website or automated emails.

“This new bidding platform serves to enhance our program,” said Nancy Betz, senior vice president/chief human resources, administrative and OMWI officer, FHLB Des Moines. “Suppliers now have direct access to FHLB Des Moines open bids and can reach out to us directly when a sourcing need arises.”

Suppliers can register online for the Bank’s Supplier Diversity Program at https://fhlbdm.suppliergateway.com/. To help suppliers navigate the registration and bidding process, the Bank has posted two guides online: our Vendor Registration Guide and Vendor Bidding Guide. Questions regarding the registration process or the online bidding process can be directed to the Bank’s Supplier Diversity team at 515-412-2300, by emailing SupplierDiversity@fhlbdm.com or visiting the Bank’s public website.
